Drink Lots of Water

Drink lots of water. Water is essential when starting a fast.  It helps to flush toxins from your body, thereby cleansing your entire system.  Drink 16 ounces of water first thing in the morning.  Keep a bottle of water with you at all times so you can sip throughout the day.  

The health authorities commonly recommend eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about 2 liters, or half a gallon. This is called the 8×8 rule and is very easy to remember.
